Exercise. No, not a walk around the neighborhood, but real, effort-pushing exercise. Dancing, running, weightlifting, cycling, anything that hurts in the best way. If none of this sounds appealing to you, I don’t know what to tell you.
Exposure to uncomfortable situations. Being challenged to keep your shit together can be a very positive way to re-learn our capabilities in being able to handle things responsibly. If this seems horrifying or terrifying, it’s probably the right fit.
Stop the shame train, no one’s riding. Be kinder to yourself but be firm. Treat yourself at least as well as you do your bestie or kids.
Use your own name when talking shit to yourself. Using your own name in your thoughts, especially negative ones, can help pivot us toward the inn…
