A Newsletter Roadmap for 2023, a Poll, and a Personal Update
A quick update on what's coming to the newsletter and a poll for future topics/themes (you're gonna like this!)
Well, isn’t it wonderful to see you again! It’s been too long. I’ve missed the nurture of your contemplation within my words. I’ve missed the back and forth comments you leave, the intelligent (and sometimes humorous) replies you bring, making this whole shebang so much better than I could on my own. Thank you for sticking with me and thank you for listening and reading my friend
a few weeks ago - she and I have been in conversation about doing some collabs together, so stay tuned for that!Quick personal update
My holiday sabbatical was lovely - we travelled, I got shoulder surgery (and had more done on my shoulder than we had thought, though the surgeon was pretty sure she’d need to do more cleaning up of my rotator cuff and such, I digress…My shoulder is healing nicely, and it’s already feeling much less painful than before surgery - all the weird clicking and popping is gone, which is kind of strange (in a good way).
I hope each of you had a wonderful, restful, joyous holiday. I would love to hear how your holiday went!
Typing was impossible until a few days ago, putting me a bit further behind on my planned work for the newsletter during recovery, but the recovery forced me into some much needed quiet time. I had to face boredom (while working through my eating disorder, or learning to manage it), and the sling I’ve been wearing can go straight to hell. But all in all, I can’t wait to deadlift again, mountain bike with the kids, and raise my arm above my head without pain!
Newsletter Update
Here’s a mini peek leading us into the Summer of 2023 (wherein I’ve planned a few breaks for potential travel with the family and personal rest time) - though, mind you, all of this is subject to change (though, I thrive on a schedule and routine, so I’ll try to keep things as close to what’s been planned as possible).
And this means more content for you paying subscribers!
Not just one measly post a week - oh no, you’re getting at least 3 posts a month plus all the freebies (and some previously pay-walled posts are now free to read). What an awesome deal!
And remember, this includes audio posts, all past posts via the archive, and all paid content! I’ve got some new and exciting things planned for my paying audience, like interviews with various experts across a gamut of industries and professions, some scientific research overviews, more of our macro-level exploration in layman’s terms, those audio episodes I promised, and more!
There’s a 40% off special going on for the new year, for a limited time!

Otherwise, feel free to share this post and re-post it - the more readers we get, the more we can help influence the perspective and stigma of mental health, helping push us toward a more positive and supportive perspective of mental health and post traumatic stress.
Thank you for your precious minutes, the minutes spent here with me are ones you could be spending somewhere else on something else (probably more important) and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for your continued support.
Here’s a look at a few topics/themes I’ve planned for the coming months:

Here’s a quick poll so I can get a read on what you’d like to…read! It would be awesome if you could vote for any that would interest you, or suggest others that would be of interest via a comment or an email (ADpurchas@gmail.com or just reply to this post).
These are various themes within the Venn diagram of PTSD and mental health - my goal is to write this for you, not only myself. I value your input and appreciate all your feedback!
See you guys soon!
Understanding our emotions would be huge for me because I go straight to “I’m just an asshole” and then start the self hate cycle.
Welcome back!
